Patient Testimonials
Dear Dr. Naide,
I wanted to thank you for changing my life at age 42. I was very nervous to be so young and in need of a hip replacement but thanks to you, the anterior hip has made my life what it was 20 years ago! I never would have believed that in 3 weeks after surgery I would be walking without any assistance and doing things I had not been able to do in years. It’s truly a miracle. My scar is barely visible and I feel like I’m in my 20's.
Than you, thank you, thank you for your wonderful bedside manner, your welcoming smile all the time and for my wonderful new body part!
------------- Sincerely, Valerie J.
PS – Feel free to have ANYONE call me if they'd like to talk about getting an anterior hip.
Thank you for performing first class surgery on replacing my right hip on December 18, 2007. The recovery was faster and easier than my left hip (which I wish could have been done by you). Yesterday I walked up several flights of stairs and was amazed at the normal feel in the joint – it feels like new. Please develop a way to revise the left side – you will if anyone can! I appreciate your kind and considerate treatment and your excellent surgical ability.
Thanks also to Joyce – she is a star assistant and her help was appreciated in organizing everything.

Dr. Janke & Dr. Naide,
Thank you so much for letting me participate in your evening of explaining the anterior hip replacement procedure. I'm just so happy with the surgery and lack of any problems and with the extremely quick recovery. I will continue to promote your procedure to anyone I hear about or see limping. It's absolutely fabulous!

Dr. Naide,
I find it necessary to send you a written letter of appreciation so you can truly understand how happy I am with the outcome of my hip replacement procedure and my recovery.
After having had one hip replaced over 8 years ago, I was expecting the same outcome, that being a difficult surgery, a painful post-operative stay in the hospital and a long drawn-out rehabilitation and recovery. What a surprise……….what an absolute miracle! I was on my feet within 36 hours and out the door in 3 ½ days. I was in a rehab center for another 3 ½ days and sent home with barely the need for a cane, let alone the use of a walker! My surgery took place on June 26th and I was out and about without any assistance in less than 10 days. This was beyond comprehension to myself as well as to all of my friends. No one was able to grasp the fact that I had just received a new hip and yet my life was proceeding like it was just a "little blip" in my day.
Your new hip replacement technique will no doubt become the "norm" in the next few years. I am just thankful that I had the good fortune to become acquainted with you and that I was able to be involved in this new, cutting-edge procedure. Word of mouth will be all that is needed to have prospective candidates lining up outside your office, ready to hop on that special table and have their lives changed, as mine has been. No more discomfort and no more daily "bone on bone" pain. I can now do anything I want to do without having to plan ahead, wondering if I will be able to "make the day" on my feet. Today I have NO limitations!
This hip replacement procedure has truly given me a new lease on life and I could not be happier …………..THANK YOU..……........THANK YOU………. THANK YOU!

At 78 years of age, I knew the time had come to have my left hip replaced after over a year of suffering and apprehension. The first orthopedic surgeon to whom I was referred explained that along with all the adverse effects the surgery could have, he also said that if I were to put my leg out to the side it might result in hip displacement and necessitate being in a cast for several months. When I asked about the new approach I had read about that would eliminate this problem, he said that I would have to be cut anyway and he left his office.
I had to change my HMO carrier to Humana and a primary care physician who could provide a referral to another surgeon. I was fortunate enough to be referred to Dr. Naide who explained the anterior incision approach to hip replacement surgery he was to start at North Broward Hospital, eliminating cutting through muscle and tendon and providing quicker healing and recovery. I would be the first to use the new surgical table obtained by the hospital for this purpose.
How fortunate I was to be able to select Dr. Naide for this surgery. I was in the hospital 3 days and after mild physical therapy and a few months of limited mobility, I was back to pain free movement and activities that I had given up due to hip pain.
I would advise anyone who needs hip surgery to have it done by Dr. Naide and get back to normal pain free living.

My name is Jeff Nelson, a 65 year old male that had total hip replacement surgery on March 19, 2007 at North Broward Medical Center. Dr. Bruce Janke from East Coast Orthopaedics performed a frontal procedure that allowed me to have no limitations on movement "like the way most doctors do their surgery". It might sound strange, but I had no pain post surgery and no need to use any pain medicine in the hospital and took no pain medicine after going home on March 22, 2007. The following week I started physical therapy and was able to do all movements because no muscles were cut during surgery. As a Deputy Sheriff, I was back to work "light duty" in 2 weeks and "full duty" in 7 weeks. Totally amazing!
If anyone has any doubts, give East Coast Orthopaedics a call and give them your phone number and I will call you personally.

As an RN with 32 years experience and Pre-Surgery Coordinator for Total Join Replacement Patients, I am well informed regarding the various approaches; and could have chosen any procedure and surgeon for my hip replacement. I selected the Anterior Approach because it has been performed successfully in Europe and the USA for many years and there are no post surgery precautions.
I am thrilled that I chose Dr. Janke and Dr. Naide to perform the Anterior Approach for my Total Hip Replacement. They are excellent surgeons and now 4 weeks after surgery, I no longer have hip pain nor a limp and feel like they have given me a new lease on life.

My name is Grace M. and I am 66 years old. On February 27, 2007 I had a total hip replacement performed by Dr. Steven Naide. This was the best decision I could have ever made. No more pain at all. No more pain pills. Free of all discomfort. Within a month, I was walking on my own, driving and above all, dancing!. I believe having a wisdom tooth pulled was more painful.
If you would like to talk to me, call Dr. Naide’s office and give them your number and I will call you – promise!

It has been 5 weeks since Dr. Naide successfully performed hip replacement surgery on me. Dr. Naide’s professional skill plus the compassion and caring attitude of he and his staff helped to make this experience both physically and emotionally much easier to go through.
Thank you for putting me on the path for 100% recovery.

Although my hip pain was growing increasingly worse, I was hesitant to have surgery because of my age, I am 78 years old. When I learned about the new anterior approach at a seminar given by Dr. Janke and Dr. Naide, I changed my mind at once.
On April 9, 2007, I had total hip replacement surgery by Dr. Janke using the minimally invasive technique. On April 12th, I was discharged from the hospital with no restrictions. Three weeks later I was riding my bike my usual 3 miles a day. Best of all, no pain!! A miracle!

Hi, my name is Mary Noll. I am 60 years old. On May 9th I had “Anterior” hip replacement surgery by Dr. Steven Naide of East Coast Orthopaedics. Before the operation I suffered with pain for about a year or so. I had to take pain meds every day. I could hardly walk. Needless to say, my life was miserable as I am a very active person. I finally decided to have the operation because I couldn’t stand the pain any longer. I came out of recovery about 5 pm that day and was up the next morning walking a little. The next day was even better. I went home within the 3rd day. I used a walker for less than a week and drove to Dr. Naide’s office for my post op appointment (2 weeks). I was out of work for 20 working days. I am so grateful to Dr. Naide and staff. I feel great, my legs are even now and I don’t limp any more and I’m pain free (no pain pills)!
------------ Sincerely, Mary N.
In June of 2007, I had an anterior hip replacement performed by Dr. Bruce Janke. Anterior hip replacement, compared to the traditional way, is truly magical. I am still in a state of awe.
I have spent more than 45 years as a RN anesthetist and am happy to have personally experienced anterior hip replacement. There are no post op restrictions, a small incision, minimal pain and a quick return to an active lifestyle.
Thank you Dr. Janke. This is a great community service.
